@candidateyellow I asked my instructor about this, He said that he has tested it and that your hand actually stops the slide if you grip hard enough. (Which in a real situation wouldn’t be a problem.) and yes the barrel would get hot, but with your adrenaline so high it is likely you would not feel it enough to lose your grip.

There’s a lot of people talking about if the gun could fire with your hand on the slide and if it could fire multiple times. The true answer is… depends on the gun and how far the slide gets moved rearward. The safe answer is yes that gun will fire, and it will fire multiple times. If you’ve ever had your hand clipped by the slide, you’d know that it moves too fast to hang on to. If it goes off you’ll probably lose grip long enough for it to cycle or if you’re lucky it will jam. Be fast!

Having said that though, it requires more skill to grab the wrist than the gun (if you accidentally grab too far up the arm and they still have partial control of their wrist, they might still be able to shoot you) so I guess depending on how skilled or confidant you are, it might be better to cop a burnt hand and secure your life
@mliao1 Indeed, norepinephrine would make you forget ’bout pain even of getting shot! But grabbing the wrist would be safer if you can secure the weapon like that! Thanks for the info, mate!

Since your grabbing the slide it would be locked in place by the friction of your hand, causing the gun to jam after the first shot

No, grabbing the barrel of a handgun like this would lock the slide in place and only allow it to fire once, and one shot won’t cause enough heat to burn you

Hey you’re right, with some guns this is the case, but in a life threatening situation such as this, all your brain cares about is surviving- your body will be pumping with adrenalin and you’ll barely feel the burn. Some Krav Maga trainers get you to grab the wrist instead of the gun, until the actual disarm action

I have a question when you have the weapon like 2:21 what if he shoots the slide will go back and your hand is shattered in peaces so you will automaticly release and he can shoot you down so isn’t there a way that you grab his hand instead of his weapon?
